Only 2 players can participate locally a single system, with multiple systems and software copies being required for 3-4 player support in Local Play Mode. Both local and online multiplayer are supported. In addition, Kirby can obtain and utilize food-themed abilities known as Copy Food Abilities by eating Copy Food from Food Boxes. Kirbys move in a manner comparable to in Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble or Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.
Kirby's Dream Buffet is a multiplayer game where four Kirbys compete to be the biggest by consuming strawberries. Kirby is soon joined by three more Kirbys who land close to him and roll past him. He then sees the cake and smiles in delight.
